The Local Listings blog publishes practical, specific content for Australian local business owners and the customers who hire them. If you know a trade, run a local business, or work with them (accountants, marketers, insurers, suppliers), we'd like to hear your idea.
What we accept
- Practical guides: pricing, regulations, licensing, hiring checklists, seasonal prep.
- Local marketing know-how: reviews, Google Business Profile, directories, customer service.
- Industry explainers written in plain English — no jargon walls.
- Australian context is mandatory: state regulations, Australian Consumer Law, local conditions.
What we don't accept
- Advertorials or thinly veiled promotions for a specific company.
- AI-generated filler with no real expertise behind it.
- Previously published content, or anything you don't have rights to.
- Link-stuffing: one relevant link in your author bio, and links in the body only where they genuinely help the reader.
Format
800–1,500 words, short paragraphs, descriptive subheadings, and at least one actionable checklist. We edit for clarity and add internal links. Include a 1–2 sentence author bio.
